10am - FROM THE CLASSROOM TO THE STUDIO; MAKING THE TRANSITION FROM STUDENT TO PRACTITIONER
What you need to consider as you embark on a career as a maker. While this lecture is primarily focused on the gallery market, many points will apply to all markets. It asks students to start thinking about their final destination [there are many to choose from – even within a single discipline] and the importance of knowing that particular market. They are also reminded of what resources they will need and what supports may be available. Finally the presentation briefly looks at goal setting, time management and planning.
